When using the BT-201 with my Dragon Dictate software, the Andrea BT-201 does not show up in the list of mic options when attempting to create a new user profile.
The BT-201 must first be paired, connected, and set as the default audio device on your PC. Once you have set the BT-201 as the default device on your computer, select it as the Dragon profile speech device. When prompted, select “Mic-In jack (most common)”.
Next, when you get to the “Review Your Choices” screen, click on the “Advanced” button.
At this point, select Bluetooth BestMatch V.
Your BT-201 is now ready to use. Proceed with Dragon training.

Can I pair my BT-201 with my tablet computer?
In most cases, the BT-201 can be paired with a tablet as long as the tablet has built-in Bluetooth capabilities. Once paired, it must be set to VoIP, as it is intended to be used with an application such as Skype, not for streaming media. Refer to your tablet’s manual for preparing the unit for pairing. Applications such as Skype may also have audio settings that may need to be changed.

I’m trying to pair my new BT-201 to my cell phone, and it won’t work.
First, consult the phone documentation for the exact steps required to pair a Bluetooth headset. There should be an option to ‘Add a Device’ or ‘Search Device’. Before you choose to search for the device, put the BT-201 into pairing mode by turning it off. Next, push and hold the multi-function button for several seconds until red and blue blinking occurs. Once it is flashing in this sequence, choose the ‘Add Device’ option on your phone. The headset should automatically pair and connect. If you are asked to enter a pass code, enter 0000 (4 zeros).
-
I’m not able to connect my Bluetooth and my computer. Do I need a USB adapter?
Do you have any Bluetooth icons in your control panel? If you do not see any software on your PC, then you will need a USB Bluetooth Radio adapter.
-
The Bluetooth receiver on the computer desktop is finding the headset and the wizard indicates that the Bluetooth device was added successfully. The headset doesn’t leave pairing mode though. It stays blinking red and blue. Is there a pairing passcode?
Yes. Be sure to select the input passcode when prompted, and enter the default code 0000 (4 zeros).

I cannot set up my microphone to work properly with Dragon dictation software on my computer. I have the device paired with the computer, but Dragon cannot train with the microphone because “Dragon is unable to communicate with your sound system”. What is wrong?
Make sure the BT-201 is set as the default device in the Recording and Playback Tabs of the Windows Sound Control Panel. Confirm that the mic is connected by talking into it, and confirming that the level meter moves next to its name in the Recording Tab. Next, make sure the mic source for your profile in Dragon is set to use the BT-201.
-
When I use my BT-201 with my mobile phone, my voice scrambles.
Position the microphone as close to your mouth as possible by bending the mic boom, and make sure your cell phone has good reception. Place a call to yourself on a land line phone to hear the quality of the headset. If there are quality issues, you should be able to tell immediately. Keep in mind that a device whose battery is getting low may also cause this issue, so be sure your device is charged.
-
When performing the initial charge of my BT-201 the red light stays on for about 20 seconds and switches off. Is it charging?
Some units may have been pre-charged. Simply use the BT-201 normally, and charge it fully when the battery level becomes low. Low battery level is indicated by the flashing red multi-function button.
-
The unit I have keeps turning itself off. I turn it on and after about 1 min. or so it turns off.
Establish that the headset is fully charged. When plugged into the charger, a red light will let you know the unit is charging. Once the light goes out, the unit is fully charged. If the unit continues turning off, contact the Andrea Support Team for further assistance.
