  1. Plug the headset USB-C connector into a USB-C slot on your computer.
  2. Fit the adjustable headband over your head to secure the headset. The speakers should be resting comfortably on your ears.
    Note: The microphone boom can rotate to adapt to either the right or left side of your head. Do not attempt to rotate the boom beyond the stops (it does not rotate a full 360º).
  3. Adjust the microphone boom so that the microphone is approximately 3/4″ in from the corner of your mouth. Make sure that you are talking into the voice side of the microphone, indicated by the white dot.

  • What is the difference between the NC-181, NC-181M, NC-181VM, NC-181VM USB and the NC-181VM USB-C?

    NC-181 has 2 separate 3.5mm plugs, one for input and one for output. The NC-181M indicates the unit has a single shared audio 3.5mm plug for input and output, it also has an in-line Volume/Mute control. The NC-181VM has 2 separate 3.5mm plugs as well as an in-line Volume/Mute control. The NC-181VM USB indicates that the Andrea USB-SA External Digital Sound Card is in-line, or built into the cable, as well as a digital in-line Volume/Mute control and plugs into a standard USB port. The NC-181VM USB-C is the same as the previous but plugs into the newer USB C ports.

  • Will my music files play in mono through the NC-181VM USB-C?

    The NC-181VM USB-C is not capable of converting a Stereo or multi-channel signal into mono. Mono, monophonic or monaural describes a recording where all the audio signals (typically a left and right signal) are mixed and routed through a single audio channel. In the case of the NC-181VM USB-C this must be done before the signal arrives at the headset’s single earphone, otherwise you will hear only the left channel side of the audio.

  • I have upgraded/switched to Windows 10 and my USB device no longer works.

    1. With your device plugged into your computer, go to the Device Manager. You can access “Device Manager” by using the Windows home screen search bar and typing “Device Manager.”  Click on “Sounds, game and video controllers”. NOTE: if you do not see the device listed check the folder marked “Other”.

    2. Right click on the device in question.

    3. Select “Uninstall.”

    4. NOTE: CHECK THE BOX to delete drivers if given the option… Click “OK”.

    5. Leave your device plugged in and restart the computer. Windows should now find and install all necessary drivers.

  • My headset will not pass the Dragon sound check.

    Go to the Windows Sound settings and make sure that the Andrea device is set as the input device. Next go into the “Properties” window. Go into the Levels tab and ensure that the microphone gain is set to a minimum of 85%. Click OK. You will now be back in the Recording tab of the Windows Sound settings. While speaking make sure there is only movement on the indicator bars to the right of the Andrea device. If you see movement next to any other microphone, Right click on that device and select Disable.

  • I am unable to hear audio from my headset.

    First, make sure the in-line volume control is not set too low. If that is not the issue be sure the Andrea device is set as the default playback/output device in Windows Sound settings.

  • Will my headset work with Skype or Zoom?

    All Andrea headsets are compatible with all major communication platforms such as Skype, Zoom, Hangouts, Meet, Google, WebEx, Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp.

  • What is the white dot located on my microphone?

    The white dot located at the end of the mic boom (just before the foam windsock); indicates which way the mic should face. The white dot should be facing your mouth.
